Venkatesa Suprabhatam
The dawn awakening of Lord Sri Venkateswara
The Venkatesa Suprabhatam is a Sanskrit composition by Sri Prativadi Bhayankaram Annangaracharya Swami (15th century) sung at dawn to gently awaken Lord Sri Venkateswara. It opens with verses addressed to Lord Rama and unfolds into prayers describing the beauty, glory, and grace of the Lord of the Seven Hills.

When to chant
Traditionally recited before sunrise as the first act of the day. It is sung daily in temples following the Tirumala tradition and is equally beautiful as a private morning practice at home.

Transliterationkausalyā suprajā rāma pūrvā sandhyā pravartate | uttiṣṭha naraśārdūla kartavyaṁ daivam āhnikam ||
MeaningO Rama, noble son of Kausalya — the eastern dawn breaks. Arise, lion among men; the daily worship of the divine awaits.

MeaningArise, arise, O Govinda; arise, O bearer of the Garuda banner. Arise, beloved of Lakshmi, and bestow auspiciousness on the three worlds.
